In the previous article, I discussed GrinderSchool, a training site that makes poker videos for those new to
US poker rooms on the internet. Now I will talk about Cardrunners, probably the most popular and admired training site on the internet today. It was brought to life by Taylor Caby and Andrew Wiggins, and they partnered with Full Tilt back in 2008. The site contains a large selection of
online poker videos for low stakes, nosebleed stakes, and everything in between.
When you sign up for Cardrunners, you’ll be able to have a limited number of
free poker videos, but you’ll be required to pay a fee if you want to see the best content. You might not like the fees if you still have a small bankroll because first you pay $100 to become a member, and then you pay $30 per month. People serious about learning will find that these fees are justified, however. Today there is an excess of 1800 videos on their site for streaming and download, and every week 7 or more are made available.
As with GrinderSchool, Cardrunners specializes in cash games. They have an amazing selection of videos for No Limit Holdem 6-max due to its popularity, and their No Limit Holdem Full Ring selection has improved when compared with a year or two ago. If you’re more into
Texas Hold Em hands in Heads-Up or Limit games, your video selection is also quite good.
For those that play mostly
Rush Poker tournaments or Sit-N-Go’s, Cardrunners won’t be the absolute best choice since their specialty is, without a doubt, cash games. I’m not saying that the tournament videos are bad – the selection is still better than most sites, and and they range from low to nosebleed stakes. If you play a mix of cash and tournaments, Cardrunners is the best way to go as they still offer several videos for tournaments and Sit-N-Go’s to go along with their first class ring game catalog.
If
Rush Poker Omaha has been giving you a hard time, Cardrunners offers some of the most useful videos out of all the training sites right now. This is also the case for other types of poker like HORSE or Stud. You might be slightly disappointed with your choices if Omaha is your game of choice, but Cardrunners definitely has the best selection of videos for other games out of all the training sites out there.
When you get some experience with
real money poker sites, Cardrunners is a fabulous way to go if you are okay with paying for some really good training videos. They’re undeniably the best option for cash game specialists, and if you decide to play a few tournaments, they will help you out there, as well. All in all, you can’t go wrong with putting your money into a Cardrunners membership.
